Wellington Library Friends
The Wellington Library Friends, a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization, has an active group of volunteers committed to supporting the mission of the Wellington Public Library. We work closely with the Library staff to identify projects, equipment, supplies, or event where the Friends can provide financial and other means of support.

The Friends secured their 501(c)3 status in 2019. As a non-profit organization we can apply for grants to help the Library. In addition, we can organize and host fund-raising events and raise funds through the Used Book Store and special book sales in June and the Fall. Examples of the Friends support to the Library include:
- Purchasing the Library’s popular 3-D printer and a special printer for producing large posters that has been an asset to area small businesses, non-profits, individuals, and Library staff.
- Providing small tables, chairs, and other supplies through a grant for Pre-school and Toddler Story Times.
- Contributing funds for the Storytimes, Summer Reading , and STEM programs in the Library.
- Providing the initial funding to help the Library bring Dolly Parton’s “Imagine” reading program for children to Wellington.
- Supporting special Library events such as the Holiday celebration and the End-Of-Summer Reading pizza party.
- Supporting Library staff development.
